Local Authorities and the HomeBuy initiative
As the appointed HomeBuy Agent for Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire and Surrey, Catalyst Housing Group work closely with local authorities to ensure that as many individuals are aware of the HomeBuy service as possible. We are always seeking to develop existing channels of communication and also identify new methods of communication wherever possible.
How does it work?
As a HomeBuy agent, we work very closely with all local authorities in our appointed areas. Our HomeBuy database is essentially a waiting list/register of people who live or work (or aspire to live) in specific local authority areas but may not be able to afford a home through a conventional route. Using this database we coordinate with housing associations and notify registrants of suitable opportunities that are open to them.
It is vital that all local authorities direct people to register with Catalyst or they may miss out on homeownership opportunities that are available through HomeBuy partners.
Catalyst regularly run events such as HomeBuy Shows to raise awareness of HomeBuy products for low cost home ownership or intermediate rental options. Housing associations, financial advisers and solicitors are on hand to guide people.
We have a Contact Centre and welcome enquiries from the public so we can try and help them and, of course, this website that offers a wealth of information.
Need some literature or promotional material?
We are able to offer a variety of HomeBuy informational leaflets and posters to local authorities for distribution. Electronic PDF versions of these are placed on this website for download and may be used as required.
We are also happy to provide large format posters or display stands e.g. for reception areas if these items are likely to be used on a medium to long term basis.
Advertising, PR and Sponsorship
We are continually seeking to increase awareness and appreciate additional opportunities for advertising, public relations coverage and sponsorship. We encourage local authorities to advise and recommend on these areas if they aware of a channel that could add value to the Homebuy effort.
